Taking the Leap

I stood on the edge for some time, a long time really. I had my 200 hr. certificate. I had a name and thanks to my beautiful daughter and her best friend I had a logo. And there I stood. Fear, anxiety, doubt all stood with me. Lack of a suitable space, not enough time- they were there with me too, providing very convenient excuses as to why I should not take that leap. Then I retired. That old friend time was no longer as convenient an excuse. Lack of space hung around with me, but to be honest, I didn't push to hard to make him go away. I would look at real estate listings, look at spaces, but there was always a catch. Then one day it happened and I knew.
I went for a job interview that day. A fun little summer job, to get me out of the house, fill that time. I left the interview realizing- I didn't want that fun little summer job. I wanted to take that leap. And on my way home, synchronicity. I got a text from Kate asking me to meet her to look at a new space. Within 24 hours I had backed up and was running toward that edge. The space was ours. Over the next few days I continued to gain speed as I approached and got ready to take that leap.. The business name was filed, and Trinity Yoga Dansville was born. The logo that had been sitting in my inbox for 15 months was dusted off and brought to life. Website, social media, promoting, special events..... I took that leap.
It's been a couple of months now, and a month since the studio opened. I soared for a bit when I took that leap, but my feet are beginning to settle onto this new landscape. Fear, anxiety, and doubt? Those little buggers managed to tag along, but their voices aren't as strong. I remind them that the scary part is over. I left the secure footing of that edge. I have landed on new ground.
Do you have a leap you want to take? Are you standing on the edge? Take that leap! Maybe it's starting something new. making a change you've been wanting to make, having that difficult conversation. Take that leap. Let yourself soar. Land gracefully. Look around. Maybe you didn't land exactly where you thought you would. But know that you landed exactly where you need to be in this moment.
