Welcome to Trinity Yoga Dansville. As I write this, I am a bundle of emotions, excitement, anxiety, fear....

Trinity Yoga Dansville is the blossom of a seed that got planted in my mind many years ago. I first stepped on a yoga mat 10+ years ago. At that time, I was a full-time school based occupational therapist. I was mom to two teenagers, married, involved in many activities in the community. I was giving all I had to everyone but myself and quite honestly, I was not happy. I knew that I had to find a way to give myself the gift of my time and I took the step and attended my first yoga class with Kate Drake at Every Body's Yoga in Dansville. (She's amazing- seriously, look her up, check out her schedule at www.everybodysyogastudio.com and take one of her classes!) My first class was a bit difficult- I could not fully let go of the to do lists and pile of dishes I knew awaited at home. I was self-conscious and worried if I was "doing it right". But I came back and slowly I learned to let go- to take that time on the mat for myself. My yoga practice was inconsistent for a number of years, but eventually after every absence I would return to the mat. And slowly I began to stay with my practice for longer periods of time. As life changed yoga was a constant that I knew would be there for me and guide me back to myself.

Somewhere along the journey that seed got planted. I knew that one day I wanted to help give the gift to others that Kate gave to me. I wanted to become a yoga teacher. I let that seed sit, untended for a while. I would look up teacher trainings. I would close out the pages. Fear, anxiety....I couldn't really do this. Then one night back in March 2019 I was sitting home alone. My husband off in Florida, umpiring baseball, my now adult children off doing their thing. I was not in a great place and sat there thinking there had to be something more for me. And then fate intervened, literally came ringing, in that very moment I heard a notification on my phone. The email was from one of the more local teacher trainings that I had looked longingly at for years. There was one spot left for the upcoming class starting that October. This time I didn't think twice. I opened that page, filled out that application and never looked back.

I completed my training in March of 2020- just as the world was changing. It took a while but eventually I was able to start teaching- again thank you Kate Drake for welcoming me into your space. The idea of Trinity Yoga started to grow. Today I am happy to watch it bloom. Trinity Yoga is walking hand in hand with Every Body's Yoga to create a welcoming, safe place where hopefully you can start or continue your yoga journey.

Welcome!
